If you have already taken our Gas Measurement Fundamentals & EFM Best Practices course, you can obtain a certification in fundamentals of gas measurement by completing this additional week of training.
In this course, instruction addresses linear metering (Coriolis, ultrasonic, and turbine), the complete EGM system (primary, secondary and tertiary devices), and the impact of measurement uncertainty.
Emphasis is given to how following industry standards and best practices can reduce measurement error. Most of the topics include hands-on exercises:
- Electronic flow measurement
- Ultrasonic meters
- Fundamentals of SCADA
- Pressure regulators
- Gas chromatography
- Moisture & H2S analyzers
After this course, the student will be equipped with the knowledge of how all this ties together to create an optimal environment for gas measurement efficiency and accuracy.
- Employ various sampling techniques
- Properly collect representative samples and overcome common issues
- Understand how gas chromatography is used to determine the quality of a gas and to calculate its physical properties
- Calibrate a transmitter
- Install a flow computer

SHOPPING CART NOTE
Our registration system allows users to register multiple participants for the same class and use the same payment method with a single transaction.
However, only one class can be added to the cart at a time. You cannot register for more than one class on the same transaction.
Tuition must be paid in full no less than 21 days prior to the class start date. Price is per participant unless otherwise noted. Tuition is subject to change without notice.
Payment can be made by credit card, wire transfer, or company check or money order made payable to Gas Certification Institute.
All payments must be made in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Personal or foreign checks are not accepted. Tuition paid by wire transfer will be invoiced an additional $50 bank processing fee. All international participants are responsible for their own customs fees, duties, and taxes. Participants must pay any and all bank-handling charges.
For in-person classes, your tuition covers course instruction, classroom materials, lunch for full-day sessions, and light refreshments. All travel expenses, lodging, and food & beverages other than those provided in the classroom are not included in tuition and are the responsibility of participants.
For online classes, your tuition covers course instruction and digital materials.
Upon satisfactory completion of a course, you will receive a completion certificate Note: We do not offer continuing education units (CEU). Courses are not for academic credit and are not part of a college degree program.
Gas Certification Institute (GCI) makes every effort to ensure that all classes are held as scheduled. However, should the total class registrations not meet the minimum enrollment requirements, GCI reserves the right to cancel a class and reschedule the participants. In no case will GCI cancel a class less than 21 days prior to the class start date.
Online classes will be held during U.S. business hours. We currently are unable to support international time zones as part standard training schedule, but we could discuss Customized Training Options.
Students may cancel or reschedule a registration up to 21 days prior to the class start date. No cancellations or rescheduling requests will be accepted if received less than 21 days prior to the class date. Another person may be substituted for a registrant at any time.
